Gerve.lt is a website for people wishing to explore Kaunas and Lithuania. The creation of the site was motivated by a desire to share interesting knowledge and historical facts. We aim to encourage people to travel, be adventurous, experience the world, and spend leisure time purposively.

The name of the page was inspired by three things: a bird crane flying in the sky; construction cranes towering over the city roofs; and my own name – I am Vykintas Gervė, which translated from Lithuanian means “Crane”.

A look through the eyes of a crane makes it easier to see the bigger picture of the city, understand its people, their daily life, culture of the country, and the influence of historical events on the present day.
